Who Are We?
HelpAide.org Inc is a not-for-profit non governmental organization whose mission is to help disadvantaged populations mainly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As stated at the top of this page, our mission is not to provide short-term relief, but to initiate, promote and support self-help actions and behaviors that will have long-term benefits. HelpAide.org is politically neutral and does not promote one culture above another.
Why this mission?
It makes sense that when resources to help are limited, they should be spent where they are mostly needed.
The United Nations declared that the Democratic Republic of the Congo is among the worst humanitarian disasters since the second world war. As a consequence of the wars between 1998 and 2003, more than 5 million people have been killed and millions more internally displaced.
In recognition of the fact that conflict and post conflict environments are high risk areas for poverty, unemployment, abuses, the spread of diseases, despair, economic collapse, etc, HelpAide.org is committed to empowering disadvantaged populations in the DRC by building up their capacity for sustainable economic growth, social and human development..
